Privacy policy

The short version: the DebtPathway calculator runs entirely in your browser — the debts and numbers you enter are never sent to us, stored, or sold. The only data collected is by Google's ads (which keep the tool free) and the standard logs your web host keeps. Details below.

Who we are

DebtPathway (debtpathway.org) is operated by doubleM, its holding company. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean doubleM, which operates from Ontario, Canada. Questions? Email hello@doublem.ca.

What we don't collect

DebtPathway is a calculator that runs completely on your device. The balances, interest rates, payments, and any other figures you enter:

  • are processed only in your browser,
  • are never transmitted to our servers (we don't have any that receive them),
  • are never stored by us, and
  • are never sold or shared.

We don't offer accounts, ask you to sign up, or run contact forms on the site, so we don't collect names, emails, or logins through it. Close the tab and your numbers are gone.

Information collected automatically

Even though we don't collect what you enter, two ordinary things happen on almost any website:

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We show ads through Google AdSense to keep DebtPathway free. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies and may collect information — such as your device, browser, IP address, and interactions with ads — to serve and measure ads, including, where permitted, personalized ads based on your interests. We don't control or receive the data Google collects.

Hosting & server logs

Our host keeps standard server logs — typically your IP address, browser type, and the time of each request — to operate and secure the site. This is normal for any website and isn't tied to anything you type into the calculator.

Cookies

We don't set our own tracking cookies. The cookies on DebtPathway come from Google's advertising. You can control or block cookies in your browser settings, and visitors in regions that require consent (such as the EU and California) are asked for their choices through Google's consent message before personalized ads run.

Affiliate links

Some pages may link to third-party products or services (for example, balance-transfer cards or consolidation loans). These may be affiliate links, meaning we could earn a commission if you sign up — at no cost to you, and it never changes your results. Once you click out, the other company's privacy policy applies.

Your choices and rights

  • You can opt out of personalized advertising anytime using the Google links above or your browser's cookie settings.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or to opt out of its “sale” or “sharing” — for example under the EU/UK GDPR, California's CCPA/CPRA, or Canada's PIPEDA. Because we don't collect or store personal information ourselves, most such requests relate to Google's ad data and are best exercised through Google's controls — but you can always contact us at hello@doublem.ca and we'll help where we can.
  • We do not sell the information you enter into the calculator — we never receive it in the first place.

Children

DebtPathway is meant for a general adult audience and isn't directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

International visitors

doubleM operates from Ontario, Canada, and our advertising partner (Google) processes data on infrastructure around the world. By using the site, you understand your information may be processed in countries other than your own.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. When we do, we'll revise the “last updated” date at the top.
